Vanilla number 1

My first attempt was vanilla, using The NY Times “The Only Ice Cream Recipe You’ll Ever Need.” I made the custard and then immediately poured it into the machine, not pre-chilling anything. As anyone with experience would guess, it was pretty icy. I’m chalking this up to user error, not the recipe.


I’d give this one a C. Nice recipe, but my technique led to disappointing ice cream. I’ll try again.
